DUBLIN, IRELAND--(Marketwire - Dec 5, 2012) - S3 Group, an international digital TV company that enables operators and programmers to accelerate the end-to-end delivery of multi-screen TV, and Teleplan today announced that they have been selected by Sky Deutschland AG to deliver a suite of products and services targeted at increasing the quality of experience for its subscribers.
The solution, which incorporates a number of different StormTest® products from S3 Group and services from Teleplan, will be deployed in Sky Deutschland across the engineering, product support and supply chain departments. By deploying a single integrated solution end-to-end across its operations, Sky Deutschland expects to see significant quality improvements and cost savings in the service being delivered to its more than three million customers.
To deliver the depth and breadth of testing required, a variety of StormTest Development Center and StormTest Decision Line configurations will be deployed by S3 Group and Teleplan. These S3 Group products will enable Sky Deutschland to achieve functional and performance testing of services, cost-efficient stress testing, and high-volume throughput device screening at the appropriate points in its business.
Research conducted by S3 Group has shown that StormTest Development Center can yield efficiencies of up to 80 percent compared to manual testing and StormTest Decision Line helps catch eight percent more faulty boxes than would be found by purely manual testing during device screening which results in massive operational cost savings and increased quality of outcome.
Sky Deutschland has chosen Teleplan to leverage the latter's in-depth knowledge of After Market Supply Chain Solutions and its deep experience with the set-top box business to provide return logistics, automated testing, repair, refurbishment and spare parts management services under this new agreement. Teleplan combines industry leadership in the delivery of screening and repair services globally with the product leadership of StormTest Decision Line to deliver significant quality improvements of refurbished set-top box products in the supply chain and an enhanced overall end-consumer experience. Analysis of the data obtained during delivery of this service solution will enable continuous improvement of the processes and automated test system scripts over time, thereby driving further improvements in Sky Deutschland's customer satisfaction levels.
