Sodexo Inc. to keep headquarters in Md.
Sodexo Inc. re-signs lease on headquarters building in Gaithersburg, Md.
GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- State and local officials say Sodexo Inc. has re-signed the lease on its North American headquarters in Gaithersburg, Md.
The move ensures that the global services firm and its 567 full-time employees will remain at the site for the next decade.
The state is giving Sodexo a $2 million conditional loan to remain at the site. The company is also getting a total of $2 million from Montgomery County and the city of Gaithersburg.
Sodexo has been headquartered in Montgomery County since 1998. Christian Johansson, secretary of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, says the company has been an important corporate partner and charitable presence in the state.
Sodexo CEO George Chavel says the company is excited to be staying in Maryland.
