Solstice Mobile, the leading enterprise mobility solutions firm, today announces significant corporate milestones as it continues to see rapid growth throughout the enterprise mobility market. Solstice Mobile was named to the second annual Inc. Magazine Hire Power Awards list as a top private business that has generated the most jobs in the past 18 months.

Recognizing its growth and contribution to the jobs market, Solstice was awarded Inc. Magazine’s Hire Power Award. Due, in part, to its recently added 92 jobs from January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013, Solstice was among the top 10 private business job creators within the state of Illinois, and among the top 20 growing businesses in the competitive software industry. An award ceremony, sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, took place November 12, 2013 in San Francisco to honor the winners.

“For the second year in a row, we are pleased to recognize the employers who are putting Americans back to work for a second time,” says Eric Schurenberg, Editor-in-Chief of Inc. “The Hire Power Awards are the only awards that single out job creators. We think it’s fitting to pay tribute to company founders not just for their business prowess but also for their immense contribution to the welfare of U.S. workers and the vitality of the U.S. economy.”

Adding to the company’s trophy case, Solstice was also named to Built in Chicago’s Top 100 Digital Companies and rose significantly among recognized companies – jumping 34 spots from last year’s list. Chicago continues to grow as an innovation hub for the technology industry, with Solstice counting Google, PayPal and Groupon among its new neighbors. Innovation is imperative across all Chicago industries and companies, and it continues to drive growth for Solstice Mobile.

“From the beginning, we set out to breed innovation here at Solstice,” said J. Schwan, CEO and Founder of Solstice Mobile. “In addition to pushing limits with our enterprise services and technologies, we are dedicated to hiring employees who fit our innovator mold and complement our fast-paced, progressive culture. As we continue growing and testing limits at Solstice Mobile’s new global headquarters in Chicago’s growing tech hub, we’ll continue to leverage our inventive office atmosphere as a source of outcome-driven innovation.”

As Solstice expands its physical presence, it is embarking on a mission to hire 100 new employees over the next 18 months. The executive team at Solstice Mobile drives employee engagement and innovation through office initiatives such as an annual Express Day – a 24-hour innovation blitz. The event is a competition where teams self-organize based on ideas they are passionate about, and then bring those ideas to life through new projects – applications, processes, platforms, etc. Since its inception at Solstice Mobile three years ago, each of the winning projects have come to fruition as new business initiatives for the office and client service offerings.

In large part because of the innovation culture, Solstice has competitively secured the business of forward-leaning new clients looking to make the most of emerging technologies in their enterprises. Since the beginning of 2013, Solstice has brought on seven new clients, while expanding the breadth of existing client work in financial services, entertainment, consumer services, manufacturing, healthcare and logistics.

Before the end of the year, Solstice will expand its operations into a newly constructed enterprise innovation campus at 111 N. Canal in downtown Chicago. The 31,000 sq. ft. space will be the company’s new global headquarters and will leverage emerging technologies such as contextual awareness and Internet of Things in its design. Putting innovation at the center of the Solstice operation will take on literal meaning with the establishment of dedicated facilities to test new technologies and rapidly develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts. In addition to its Chicago expansion, Solstice also recently announced the opening of an office in New York City.
