Gmail Service Has Been Restored After An Outage*

Business Insider

Gmail was experiencing issues this morning.

It wasn't working for some and w e were having issues accessing certain accounts.

The issue has since resolved but this is what happened prior:

We received this message after several attempts to log into our account: " Sorry, there seems to be a problem. The service you're looking for is temporarily unavailable. We're working hard to restore your access as soon as possible. Please try again in a few hours. Thanks for your patience."

A Google spokesperson shared with us via email:

We are currently investigating issues with Gmail, Drive and Docs as well as the Google Apps Control Panel. We are providing more information and frequent updates through our Google Apps Status Dashboard, which you can find here http://www.google.com/appsstatus#hl=en&v=status&ts=1366206964509.

We will post the root cause of the issue there when our teams have completed their investigation. In the meantime, for everyone who is affected, we apologize - we know you count on Google to work for you and we're working hard to restore normal operation for you.

Google's official status page is now reflecting a service disruption and it seems the issue has now spread to Google Drive, Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations.
