Southcross Energy Partners, L.P. (SXE) (“Southcross” or the “Partnership”) today announced that Gerardo E. Rivera has joined Southcross’ general partner in the newly-created position of Vice President, Natural Gas Liquids. Mr. Rivera has more than 26 years of experience in midstream product marketing, business development and developing projects with a proven record of accomplishments and leadership.
“Gerardo’s extensive background and expertise in marketing and project development make him an excellent addition for the Southcross team. We look forward to his valuable contributions to the Partnership as we pursue our growth strategy,” said David Biegler, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Southcross’ general partner.
Mr. Rivera previously was Director of Corporate Planning, Strategy and Portfolio Management for Vermilion Energy Inc., a Canadian-based oil and gas company, where he was responsible for development of corporate strategy and portfolio planning and analysis. He also led teams to identify and develop acquisition opportunities and directed commercial teams responsible for marketing production and commodity risk management programs. Prior to joining Vermilion in 2008, Mr. Rivera worked for ConocoPhillips for 22 years managing NGL assets and developing growth opportunities for natural gas, crude oil and NGLs.
Mr. Rivera earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
