The provider of gas and electricity services to southern states said Q3 EPS rose 3.7% to $1.11, 2 cents below views. Southern's (SO) revenue slid 7% to $5.05 bil, below expectations. Southern's customers missed Superstorm Sandy's fury, but they used less energy during the quarter because of mild weather. Economic uncertainty also kept consumers from switching on the heat. Shares fell 2.5% to 44.62.
