DALLAS (AP) -- Southwest Airlines says its chief financial officer, Laura Wright, plans to retire after 25 years with the airline.
Southwest Airlines Co. said Thursday that Wright will be succeeded by Tammy Romo, who currently serves as senior vice president of planning.
The personnel change is effective Sept. 20. Wright will remain with the company through the end of the year to help with the transition process.
Wright, who is also senior vice president of finance, said in a statement that she wants to spend more time with her family among other things in retirement.
Romo joined the company in 1991, and will continue to oversee the financial planning and analysis and strategic planning functions of her current position.
The company's stock rose 2 cents to $8.90 in morning trading Thursday. Its shares have traded in a 52-week range of $7.15 to $10.05.
