Southwest's Nov. traffic falls

The budget carrier said traffic, or revenue passenger miles flown, fell 1.5% to 8.1 bil vs. 8.3 bil in Nov. '11. Available seat miles increased 0.4% to 10.2 bil. Nov. '12 load factor — a measure of capacity — narrowed to 80.0% from 81.6% last year. Southwest (LUV) filed an application for slot exemptions that Spirit Airlines (SAVE)discontinued using, allowing it to offer nonstop service between Washington's Reagan Washington National Airport and Houston's Hobby Airport. Southwest shares fell 0.7%.

Trump poised to clinch $1.3 billion social media company stock award
Donald Trump is set to secure on Tuesday a stock bonus worth $1.3 billion from the company that operates his social media app Truth Social, equivalent to about half the majority stake he already owns in it, thanks to the wild rally in its shares. The award will take the former U.S. President's overall stake in the company, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), to $4.1 billion.
