Spectrum Brands unit buys Liquid Fence, animal repellent company
NEW YORK (AP) -- Spectrum Brands Holdings Inc., a global supplier of consumer products from personal care to pet control, said Tuesday that a subsidiary has acquired The Liquid Fence Co., a leading maker of animal repellants.
"Liquid Fence gives us a new, complementary and leadership position in a rapidly expanding segment of the $1.5 billion U.S. retail lawn and garden controls market," Dave Lumley, president and CEO of Spectrum Brands, said in a statement.
Spectrum's United Industries Home and Garden division, based in St. Louis, made the acquisition. Spectrum Brands is based in Middleton, Wis.
Spectrum Brands shares slipped 4 cents to $69.95 in afternoon trading.
