Spirit Airlines says quarterly profit rose

Oct 30 (Reuters) - Spirit Airlines, a low-cost carrier, said on Wednesday that quarterly profit nearly doubled as its flights increased.

Net income was $61.1 million, or 84 cents a share, in the third quarter, compared with $30.9 million, or 43 cents a share, a year earlier, the company said on Wednesday.

Quarterly revenue rose 33 percent to $456.6 million.
