It's likely wireless service provider Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S)will make a counter-bid to Deutsche Telekom's (OTCPK:DTEGY) early October deal to merge its T-Mobile USA unit with MetroPCS (PCS), Guggenheim said in a note. MetroPCS had been in talks with Sprint as well as satellite broadcaster Dish Network (DISH). Under the Deutsche Telekom deal, Deutsche Telecom would own 74% of the combined company and MetroPCS shareholders the rest. MetroPCS shares rose 5% to 10.65. Sprint rose 0.2% to 5.73; Deutsche Telekom fell 0.2% to 11.02.
