The U.S. State Department will release its environmental assessment of TransCanada's (TRP) Keystone XL pipeline shortly, and the report will acknowledge that Alberta's oilsands are carbon-intensive but also apparently states the pipeline itself isn't any more of a threat to the environment than other modes of transporting oil, reported The Canadian Press, citing a source at an environmental group.
