Sting Sings Awkward Texts on ‘Tonight Show’

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sting swung by to promote his new album, “57th and 9th,” but ended up joining Fallon in a round of First Textual Encounters.

The game involved both host and guest singing lines from actual awkward text conversations. Sting can make the phone book sound sexy, and he’s just as good at singing messages from people’s phones.

One of the exchanges involved a person who would rather eat cereal in bed instead of cuddling up to the person who was texting them. Another simply required Sting and Fallon to repeat ‘LOL’ over and over and over again. Then they mixed that up with the classic Police song, “Message in a Bottle,” repeating the line: “Sending out an L.O.L.”

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m./10:35 p.m. CT on NBC.
