Stocks weak as oil falls; Netflix earnings after the bell

Stocks (^DJI, ^GSPC, ^IXIC) treading water here as blowout earnings from Goldman can’t get the Dow moving. And crude oil – it’s hitting energy names hard. Winners and losers

Stocks getting hit today include JCPenney after Credit Suisse downgraded it to Neutral with a $7 price target, (FS) CSX after the rail operator’s profit dropped from a year earlier, and (FS) Himax Technologies shares sliding as Credit Suisse also hit this stock, claiming the chipmaker will see a sales drop in 2017.

(FS) Stocks in the green today include CoLucid Pharmaceuticals as Lilly will acquire the drugmaker for $960 million, (FS) Neurocrine Biosciences after it announced topline results for its Tourette syndrome treatment, and (FS) US Steel – shares jumping following positive comments by Morgan Stanley, and Wilbur Ross testifying at his confirmation hearing that the US needs tariffs to combat steel dumping.
