Summary Box: US stocks fall on Fed's dim outlook

Summary Box: US stocks fall after Federal Reserve policy minutes show dim view of jobs, growth

Associated Press

A FED WARNING: U.S. Stocks fell after Federal Reserve policymakers said they were worried that hiring will slow if economic growth doesn't improve. In minutes from the Fed policy committee's March meeting, only two members appeared at all interested in another round of bond-buying to reduce interest rates and encourage investment in stocks.

NO MO'? The selling doused any momentum stocks had carried into the week after closing their best first quarter in more than a decade. The Dow Jones industrial average and Standard & Poor's 500 indexes closed Monday at multi-year highs.

SELL EVERYTHING! Treasurys plunged after the Fed announcement. So did oil, metals and most food commodities.
