SANTA ANA, Calif., April 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tasos Project for Kids Foundation and Scholarship Program, a nonprofit organization, is hosting its second annual fundraising gala event at the Lyon Air Museum in Santa Ana, Wednesday, June 11, 5:00 - 9:00 PM. The event will celebrate the life of Tasos Tsirtsis, who passed away in January of 2013 after a courageous battle with leukemia, and will raise funds to support the organization's mission of assisting children who have lost a parent to cancer.

Guests will enjoy an evening of dinner, music, and entertainment, and have the chance to bid on incredible items and services in a silent auction.  Last year's auction items included signed guitars, hotel stays, fine jewelry, and gift certificates. The event will celebrate his life as it furthers the goal that Tasos found most important – helping others. All event proceeds go toward the foundation.  Tickets are $100 and include dinner.

Tasos Project for Kids was founded by Tasos' parents, Steve and Agatha Tsirtsis, in 2013 to provide counseling services, scholarships, and monetary support for children who are in need after losing a parent to cancer. This year's gala will help the organization grow its reach and provide greater opportunities and services for more children.

Tasos Tsirtsis, the owner of a successful lighting and DJ company in Orange County, was survived by his wife and three young children. The concern and passion he showed for the well-being of his own children continues to inspire family and friends to reach out and support other families struggling with the loss of a parent.

The foundation was founded by Steve and Agatha Tsirtsis in memory of their son Tasos, who died at the age of 34 after battling leukemia.
