Solar installation in the United States doubled year-over-year in the first half of 2012, due to sharply falling prices, according to a weekend article in the Wall Street Journal, which also noted that many such installations did involve panels made overseas. In response, several solar stocks moved notably higher Monday, including those of China Sunergy Co., Ltd. (CSUN), Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ), GT Advanced Technologies, Inc. (GTAT), Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (STP) and First Solar, Inc. (FSLR), among others.
