NAPERVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- Communications equipment maker Tellabs said Friday it has hired Lawrence Rieger as acting chief financial officer after its CFO resigned to join another company.
Rieger succeeds Tom Minichiello, who left the company to become CFO of rival Westell.
Rieger has worked closely with Tellabs since 2003 as a partner with Crowe Horwath LLP. He previously worked at Arthur Andersen from 1973 to 2002, where he held a series of finance positions.
"Larry brings Tellabs deep expertise in finance, plus more than a decade of experience working with our finance team, so he can hit the ground running," said Dan Kelly, Tellabs Inc. president and CEO.
The company also said it promoted Michael Miles from director of finance to vice president of finance and chief accounting officer.
Shares of Tellabs closed up 1 cent at $2.17.
