ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
TierPoint announced plans to enhance its national data center footprint with the Summer 2015 opening of a new 69,000 square foot data center in Oklahoma City. The new data center, to be built on TierPoint’s 15 acre campus, will be the largest of three TierPoint facilities in Oklahoma, adding 30,000 square feet of raised floor space. TierPoint currently operates a 22,000 square foot facility in Oklahoma City, built in 2009, as well as a data center in Tulsa with approximately 9,000 square feet of raised floor. Both facilities were previously operated by Perimeter Technology Center prior to TierPoint’s acquisition of the company in 2011.
“The new data center will enhance our ability to meet growing customer demand for secure colocation, managed hosting and cloud services and demonstrates TierPoint’s commitment to growing the Oklahoma market,” said Todd Currie, General Manager for TierPoint Oklahoma. “Oklahoma's low cost of living, land and electrical power have made it one of the nation's most inviting data center locations,” said Currie.
The new Tier III carrier-class, carrier-neutral facility will include N+1 redundant power and accommodate up to 30kW per rack. Like all TierPoint data centers, it will be SSAE 16 audited with 24x7 customer access. Security will include around the clock onsite personnel, BioMetrics, proximity sensors/logging at all entrances and external/internal cameras with a digital recording system.
“Our focus is on customizable services and solutions. This design gives us the ability to accommodate most any customer configuration and power requirements,” said Currie. The facility will include 10,000 square feet of Business Continuity office space and offer a private customer lounge and work areas with multiple large staging rooms for customer installs and upgrades.
