Time Warner offering Tennis Channel preview

Time Warner says blacked-out CBS customers will get free Tennis Channel preview during US Open

NEW YORK (AP) -- Time Warner Cable said Wednesday that customers affected by the CBS blackout will get a free preview of the Tennis Channel through the U.S. Open tournament.

Time Warner said the channel will broadcast about 240 hours of U.S. Open coverage from Monday to Sept. 9, including 75 hours of live coverage.

Since Aug. 2, Time Warner Cable Inc. has blacked out CBS stations to about 3.2 million customers in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas. Time Warner and CBS Corp. are in a dispute over how much Time Warner pays for CBS programming and how much of the network's content it can use online.

Time Warner said its subscribers also have access to live tennis matches on CBS Sports Network and ESPN2.
