Today's charts: Investors track health care stocks ahead of vote on new bill

Yahoo Finance’s charts of the day feature health insurance stocks ahead of the House’s scheduled vote on health care reform Friday afternoon. After delaying the vote Thursday, GOP House leaders and President Donald Trump are still scrambling for support from undecided Republican lawmakers to pass the new bill that will repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Republicans are running out of time to deliver on a campaign promise that helped the party win the White House in November. They can’t afford to lose more than 21 votes from their own party and still get the new legislation passed since no Democrats are expected to vote in favor of its passing.

The fact that the outcome is still unclear is what’s driving health insurance stocks in intraday trading. UnitedHealth (UNH), Humana (HUM), Cigna (CI) and Anthem (ANTM) were mixed in late morning trading on Friday. The Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) is moving higher, up about 0.5% as of 11a.m. ET after losing ground in late trading on Thursday and closing in negative territory.
