Today's Research Reports on Stocks to Watch: Broadwind Energy and FuelCell Energy

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / April 12, 2017 / One factor that has the potential to drive positive momentum in alternative energy is the price of oil. The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that American crude oil stockpiles fell by 1.3 million barrels in the past week, causing oil prices to rise by 2 percent.

In a report published by BccResearch on Tuesday, the potential for battery and fuel cell industries to take a sharp turn north is considerable. Higher demand and increased expansion of the use of fuel cells are making them a valuable power commodity. New developments in the industry along with new applications and emerging markets cause analysts to estimate a market that will total almost $33 billion in 2017, an increase of $10 billion from 2016.

FuelCell Energy advanced 8.57% to close at $1.90 in Tuesday's trading session. The stock traded between $1.75 and $1.95 on a volume of 3.0 million shares traded. The rise comes on the increasing optimism fueled by Amazon's recent agreements with Plug Power. The basis of a fuel cell is that it combines hydrogen and oxygen to generate power. The only by-product of the chemical reaction is water. Fuel cell technology is being used in electric cars, such as those made by 2nd ranked automobile manufacturer, Tesla. Its major industry competitors are solar and wind power, neither of which is portable for indoor use.
