PARK CITY, UT--(Marketwire - December 18, 2012) -  Professional vacation rental managers and travel industry leaders, including VRMA Board Member, President of Utah Vacation Homes and Future Focus Utilities Tristan Webb, advised tourism seminar attendees of governmental rental restrictions at the inaugural Holiday Rental Professionals Seminar hosted by the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA), 4-5 December 2012 at the Barceló Atenea Mar Hotel in Barcelona, Spain.

Webb shared his personal experience working with community and government in successful resolution of rental restriction issues in Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah. He spoke of his experience working with the Cottonwood Heights Mayor Kelvyn Cullimore and city council to craft an ordinance that protected the community from unprofessional and illegal short term rental operators. He and others recited instances where professional managers prevented negative impacts while helping to increase economic benefits for the community. Other panelists including Jeremiah Gall, FlipKey by TripAdvisor; Petra Friedmann, President, HomeAway Europe; Joaquim Leal, Spain Director, Interhome; Arnoud Litjens, CEO, Short Stay Group Amsterdam; Marie Pistinier, Owner, Paris Be A Part Of It.com; shared their perspective of similar experiences in their European locations. The 2012 Holiday Rental Professionals Seminar was conceived during an organizing event of 40 industry professionals held in Rome, Italy, and is hosted by the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA). VRMA organized quality programming that met the needs of professionals at all levels of the vacation home rental management business. Barcelona served as a fantastic location to meet, network, and experience life on the Mediterranean Sea.

Webb's Future Focus Utilities sponsorship, along with other contributors, helped make the seminar possible. Future Focus Utilities started out as a beta program to help Utah Vacation Homes' home owner clients lower their fixed costs on electricity, natural gas, telephone, internet, TV, security and other services. Telecom deregulation started the opportunity, and energy deregulation has changed the product portfolio to include the biggest industries on earth.
