Trina Solar announced that it has obtained Carbon Footprint Verification for the Company's solar PV modules from the British Standards Institution, or BSI, a leading international standards and certification body. The Verification involves assessing the carbon footprint at various stages of the product life cycle, such as the acquisition of raw materials, process activities phase and packaging. It provides dependable evidence of the environmental benefits of Trina Solar's products. In quantifying the amount of CO2 emitted during the life cycle of the Company's modules, the findings suggest a relatively short carbon payback time, given reasonable assumptions on the carbon offset potentials of the modules during their usage period.
