Starbucks Raises Guidance as Comp Sales Grow
Starbucks reported fourth-quarter earnings of $0.46 a share, beating the $0.45 forecast by analysts. Same-store sales also rose more than expected and management increased its earnings projections for the current fiscal year. Profit is now anticipated to be $2.06 to $2.15, compared with previous guidance of $2.04 to $2.14. SBUX is up 8 percent in the premarket.
Bulls Plan a Journey With Priceline.com
Priceline.com earned $12.40 a share in the third quarter on revenue of $1.71 billion. Analysts had only modeled for $11.81 and $1.65 billion, respectively. PCLN surges 11 percent in early trading.
Alphia Natural Results Better Than Feared
Alpha Natural Resources had a loss of just $0.21 in the third quarter, much narrower than the $0.45 loss expected by analysts. Revenue missed slightly, but investors are focusing on that strong bottom-line number. ANR climbs almost 7 percent on the news.
