Trunity Holdings Announces School District of Palm Beach County Adopts First All-Digital Textbook for Use by More Than 3000 South Florida Students

Utilized as one of the primary textbooks for specific SDPBC's Career and Technical Education Pathways programs of study, the book and related learning activities will help prepare Palm Beach County students interested in pursuing careers in the technology fields to take the Adobe Certified Associate ("ACA") Exam; Upon passing the exam, students receive ACA certification, a credential that attests to entry-level skills with Dreamweaver. The national push continues for public school districts to move away from paper textbooks and toward digital curricula and e-textbooks as a means to reduce costs and improve learning outcomes for K-12 students. U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, has continued to urge educators to move quickly to adoption of digital textbooks and materials. In 2012, the Federal Communications Commission and the Education Department released a report, the Digital Textbook Playbook, which provides a blueprint for schools to make the shift to digital content. In support of digital adoption, the state of Florida adopted legislation requiring districts to spend half their instructional materials budgets on digital content by the 2015-16 school year.
