Earnings, Revenue Miss
Tyson Foods reported second-quarter profit of $0.26 a share on sales of $8.42 billion. Those results lagged the consensus estimates of $0.45 and $8.58 billion, respectively. TSN drops 5 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
Barron's Slams Linn Energy
Barron's took a swipe at Linn Energy over the weekend, calling it "the most overpriced large energy producer." LINE dropped 4 percent in early trading, and its Line Co. holding company (:LNCO) fell 5 percent.
Apollo Global Crushes Estimates
Apollo Global Management earned $1.59 a share, beating the $1.24 average analyst estimate. Revenue of $1.31 billion also breezed past the Street's $976.7 million forecast. APO climbs 6 percent in the premarket.
