(MDRX) recently announced that Children's of Alabama, a Birmingham-based pediatric medical center, has sought to strengthen its relationship with the company and extend its support for the Allscripts Sunrise platform. Shares of Allscripts climbed 1.6% till the last closing date following the announcement.
Children’s of Alabama extended its commitment to the Allscripts Sunrise Electronic Health Record (:EHR) through 2023. Apart from extending the Allscripts Sunrise platform, Children's of Alabama plans to leverage several open platform solutions of Allscripts in order to meet regulatory requirements, manage population health and improve patient outcomes.
Children’s of Alabama will install Allscripts dbMotion health information exchange platform, population health and analytics solutions, Allscripts Sunrise Ambulatory Care and Allscripts Sunrise Emergency Care solutions. Given the breadth of these solutions, Children’s of Alabama expects to drive proactive and responsive patient care across all settings.
Allscripts dbMotion integrates discrete real-time patient data from diverse care settings and health information technology systems into a single patient record and provider workflow, at the point-of-care. Allscripts Sunrise Acute EHR provides innovative Computerized Provider Order Entry (:CPOE) and features, including integrated pharmacy, knowledge-based medication administration and patient portal solutions.
Last month, Allscripts launched the latest version of Sunrise Ambulatory Care, which is designed to enhance operational efficiency through every stage of care and administration for inpatient and outpatient capabilities. Allscripts Sunrise Ambulatory Care and Emergency Care supplement Sunrise Acute Care to effectively manage the complex medical needs of patients in multiple settings.
By leveraging the suite of Allscripts open platform solutions, Children’s of Alabama aims to create a single patient record, improve efficiencies and set a standard for patient care.
