WASHINGTON, Oct 15 (Reuters) - U.S. Senate leaders arecontinuing to negotiate on legislation to raise the nation'sborrowing authority and provide temporary government funding buta deal is not expected to be announced on Tuesday, Senate aidessaid.
Lawmakers said a deal was close but there remained detailsto be worked out. The Senate and House of Representatives arescheduled to hold sessions on Wednesday and they could debateany deal that Senate leaders ultimately strike.
Congress is racing against a Thursday deadline, when theTreasury Department says it will bump up against its legalborrowing limit.
