U.S. solar energy installations jumped in 2012, NY Times says

The amount of new solar energy capacity installed in the U.S. jumped 76% last year versus 2011, the Solar Energy Industries Association, the industry's main trade group, will report later today, according to The New York Times. The jump was fueled by an oversupply of cheaper solar panels made in China, the newspaper explained.
