CORAL SPRINGS, FL--(Marketwired - October 29, 2013) - Union Dental Holdings, Inc. (UDHI) www.uniondental.com/ir -- a provider of multi-state dental services for union members, announced today as a part of its Joint Venture Agreement with Drinkable Air (DA) that the Chameleon 8 Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) has been awarded by the readers of Dentistry Today Magazine as one of the Top 50 Technology Products.
The product technology will be featured at the American Dental Association (ADA) National Convention in New Orleans by Dentistry Today on October 30 through November 2 and will be in the November issue of Dentistry Today.
The dental application is a natural extension of the Drinkable Air product line by introducing ozone into the water supplied. Ozone has long been used as an effective water disinfectant and this product addresses concerns that have developed over bacterial contamination of the water lines used in areas such as dental operatories. OSHA placed a warning to all dentists in 2012 after an 82 year old lady died from bacteria in the water lines at her dental office. Since then, there have been other deaths in nursing homes in Pennsylvania created from the same type of bacteria in the water lines in those nursing homes.
Dr. George Green, CEO of UDHI, stated: "I have realized for many years this is a problem in dental offices and I am extremely excited about this product, have installed the Chameleon 8 machines in our dental office in Coral Springs and have tested them with great success. All test results completed by myself and the engineers done separately while using the machines have shown the product to work exactly as it was designed. It will kill all bacteria in the water lines in dental operatories so the patient will never fear of ever having any kind of contaminated water used in their dental procedures. My intentions are to get it mandated."
