Earnings and Sales Blow Past Expectations
Urban Outfitters reported second-quarter sales of $676.3 million, versus the $671.6 million consensus estimate. Profit was even more impressive, coming in at $0.42 while analysts had only expected $0.33. Management also announced plans to keep opening new stores. URBN is up 15 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
Daktronics Rallies on Strong Results
Daktronics earned $0.16 a share in its first quarter on revenue of $132.9 million. Analysts had only expected $0.04 and $120.37 million, respectively. DAKT rallies 12 percent in the premarket.
Nordson Beats Consensus, Issues Bullish Guidance
Nordson, which makes measuring equipment used by consumer-product companies, beat expectations and issued strong guidance. Profit in the third quarter was $1.06 a share on revenue of $379.9 million. That compares with consensus of $0.99 and $358.45 million. Fourth-quarter earnings will be $0.96 to $1.04, while analysts only expect $0.95. NDSN climbs 18 percent in early trading.
