TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- US Airways Group Inc. said Tuesday that it will start service to 11 new destinations and add flights to three existing destinations from Washington's Reagan National Airport.

US Airways got the rights to expand at Reagan through an exchange with larger rival Delta Air Lines Inc. Delta traded some of its flying rights at Reagan in for some takeoff and landing slots at New York's LaGuardia airport.

The new flights at Reagan National will begin in two phases, on March 25 and July 11.

US Airways will add the these new flights in March:

— Nonstop daily flights to Birmingham, Ala.; Fayetteville, N.C.; Islip, N.Y.; Little Rock, Ark.; Jacksonville, N.C.; Pensacola, Fla.; Tallahassee, Fla., and Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. These cities aren't currently served by any airline to or from Reagan.

— New service to Memphis, Tenn.; Omaha, Neb. and Ottawa, Ontario, which are currently served by other airlines.

— Daily flights will be added to Bangor, Maine, and Savannah, Ga., which US Airways currently serves on weekends.

— A daily nonstop flight will be added to Hartford, Conn.

Flights scheduled to start in July will be announced in February. When the expansion is complete, US Airways will offer more than 230 flights to and from Washington — up from 171 currently. The new flying at Reagan will be offset by less flying in and out of LaGuardia. US Airways will remain the third largest airline at that airport.
