NEW YORK (AP) -- Omnicom Group Inc.'s U.S. business helped lift second-quarter net income 1.5 percent, making up for a decline overseas.
The advertising and marketing company said Tuesday that it earned $276.3 million, or $1.02 per share, after paying preferred dividends, from April through June. That's up from $272.2 million, or 96 cents per share, a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of $1.01 per share in the latest quarter.
The New York company's revenue rose 2 percent to $3.56 billion from $3.49 billion, with domestic revenue up 5.4 percent to $1.86 billion. International revenue fell 1.3 percent to $1.7 billion.
Wall Street analysts expected $3.52 billion in revenue.
