MINOT, N.D. (AP) -- The USDA Rural Development state director says a grant of just over $97,000 will help give Native American artists access to tools and support needed to build successful businesses.
Jasper Schneider says the project creates a center of information that will connect the Native American arts community with regional and national marketplaces."
Schneider says Artspace will provide a 1,100 square-foot area in its Minot Artspace Lofts building to the Turtle Mountain Tribal Arts Association for training, workshops and gallery space. Training programs will be offered in business management, website development, marketing and public relations.
Funding will also be used to purchase equipment needed to provide technical assistance training and to offer opportunities for artist mentoring.
