Va. Farm Bureau gathers for annual meeting

Virginia Farm Bureau Federation to begin 3-day annual meeting on Tuesday in Chantilly

CHANTILLY, Va. (AP) -- The Virginia Farm Bureau Federation is meeting in northern Virginia over the next three days for its annual convention.

The gathering kicks off Tuesday in Chantilly and will include speakers and workshops through Thursday. Wednesday's speaker is Bob Stallman, president of the American Farm Bureau Federation.

Voting delegates from each county Farm Bureau will also shape the organization's state and federal policies for 2013.

With nearly 150,000 members, the Farm Bureau is Virginia's largest agricultural lobby. The federation has 88 county farm bureaus.
