Valentine's Day: A Time for Credit Card Rewards

Bankrate.com

Ah, Valentine's Day: Time for flowers, candy, teddy bears and other not-so-practical gifts.

If you're about to drop some cash on one of these, why not do it in a way that gives you something worthwhile -- credit card rewards points -- in return?

Issuers typically offer big points bonuses if you buy through their online shopping portals. And Valentine's Day gifts always deliver big returns. In some cases, you can get more than 10 times the typical number of points if you use the portal. That means you could spend $100 and get $1,000 worth of points that could be redeemed for cash, frequent flier miles, gift cards and other benefits.

Interested? Here's what credit cards are offering ahead of Valentine's Day.
