Developed with input from professionals within the industry, the new program combines course work, practical learning and a three-week practicum to prepare students to work in a variety of animal care facilities, including veterinary hospitals, animal shelters and zoos.

In just 49 weeks, the Veterinary Assistant program teaches students the crucial skills needed for work alongside animal health technologists and veterinarians. Students also learn fundamental administrative skills, including veterinary office procedures, billing, veterinary practice and hospital administration, marketing and client communication.

In addition, students gain real-world experience with an on-the-job practicum in a veterinary clinic or pet care environment.
