LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Southern Nevada home prices were up in February even though fewer houses are selling.
The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors reported Tuesday that the median home price in February was $190,000, up from $185,000 in January. The price is up nearly 27 percent from what it was a year ago.
About 2,500 homes were sold in February, down a few dozen from January and several hundred February 2012.
Association chief Heidi Kasama says she's pleased housing prices are holding steady through the traditionally slow winter sales period. But she says the number of sales so far this year is down 15 percent from the same time last year.
