CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Venezuela's justice minister says a woman has been arrested for posting what he called "destabilizing messages" on a social networking site.
Nestor Reverol says police arrested Lourdes Ortega Perez on Wednesday, after the computer technician stole the identify of an official from the country's notary public service to post the messages. Authorities did not reveal the content of the messages.
Reverol told state television the government is closely monitoring networking sites to detect any messages aimed at spurring social or political upheaval as Venezuelans prepare for an upcoming presidential election.
