VeriFone disclosed in a regulatory filing last night that on June 8, it received an unfavorable trial verdict related to an ongoing patent infringement litigation that commenced trial on June 4. As a result, VeriFone believes it will incur a loss on the litigation of $17.6M, including estimated pre-judgment interest. The company said it accrued $17.6M for this litigation as of April 30.
