Verizon bidding for airwaves

Verizon Wireless (VZ) offered to buy some of Clearwire's (CLWR) wireless airwave licenses, a report said. Verizon is the unnamed buyer cited in a Clearwire regulatory filing last week, Bloomberg News said, citing unnamed sources. Clearwire said "Party J" made a $1 bil-1.5 bil offer, minus certain items. Sprint Nextel (S)is bidding for the part of Clearwire it doesn't own. Dish Network (DISH) has made a competing offer for Clearwire, and Mon. made a $25.5 bil offer for Sprint. Clearwire shares fell 3.4%. Verizon fell 0.4%.
