AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Molecular diagnostics company Vermillion Inc. said Tuesday that it named Bruce Huebner as its interim CEO.
Huebner, a director on the Austin, Texas-based company's board, succeeds Gail Page, who will help with the transition and serve as an adviser to the company. Huebner will remain on Vermillion's board.
Vermillion said its board has formed a committee of independent directors to help select a new CEO and has hired an executive search firm to advise it on potential candidates.
Huebner has more than 37 years of diagnostic industry experience and leadership. He is a past president of Osmetech Molecular Diagnostics and a past president and chief operating officer of Nanogen, Vermillion said.
Vermillion shares rose 1 cent to $1.20 in morning trading.
