FORT WORTH, Texas, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cory Coker, a highly regarded financial services professional with more than 14 years of experience in commercial and retail banking, has joined Colonial as Senior Relationship Manager. In his new position, Coker will be responsible for portfolio development and maintenance as well as commercial loan origination. He will also assist with the cultivation of Colonial's small business banking in the DFW area.
Coker most recently served as Senior Vice President/Relationship Manager for Southwest Securities in Southlake, TX, where he managed commercial clients with annual sales ranging from $3 million to $30 million in the DFW area. In his career, he has held increasingly responsible positions in all facets of commercial banking, and is highly regarded by his clients for his financial expertise and customer service.
Brent Davis, DFW Commercial Bank President for Colonial, said the addition of Coker to his team is indicative of the growth the bank has seen recently. "In the past few years, we've seen more consumers and small business owners switch from the huge national banks to institutions like Colonial which is family-owned, financially strong and focused on serving the needs of people in the communities of North Central Texas," Davis said. David Motley, President of Colonial's banking and mortgage operations added, "Both consumer and commercial clients have discovered that we offer all the products and technology they need but we deliver a better, more personal banking relationship. They prefer doing business with a bank invested in the local area, with local decision-making and support. Cory's experience is exactly in line with our goals, and we are extremely pleased to have him on our team. His strong commercial banking experience in the DFW market will be invaluable as we serve more customers."
Coker aims to help small business owners with their financial needs. "I want to help them take a step back and analyze the individual aspects of their business to see if there is a better way. Usually this process starts because they want a loan, but working with them to take a deeper look at their operations is what really makes Colonial stand apart from other financial institutions," Coker said.
