U.S. retail sales of new video game products fell 13% year over year in Jan., marking 14 straight months of decline for the struggling industry, according to the NPD Group. Software sales dropped 19% and hardware sales fell 17%. Video game accessories sales were up 4%. Activision's (ATVI) "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" was the top-selling video game in Jan. It has been the No. 1 game for 3 months in a row and was the best-selling game for all of '12. Shares rose 2.6% to 14.37. Microsoft's (MSFT) Xbox 360 console led hardware sales in Jan. Microsoft shares fell 0.1% to 28.01.
