In this role, Colao is responsible for leading worksite health market strategies and business development, as well as enhancing infrastructure and administrative processes, organizational alignment and staff development. In addition, he is a subject matter expert on employer-based total health management strategies including strategic planning, operational integration, benefits design and incentive integration, organizational culture assessment, healthy culture development and program evaluation.

Colao also has held senior healthcare leadership roles, including Mercer Human Resource Consulting where he served as the National Total Health Management Specialty Practice leader for the organization's mid-market clients, as well as Health Fitness Corporation, Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems, Clinch Mountain Regional Health System, Baptist Health System of East Tennessee and Baxter Healthcare.
As an innovative and a tactical strategist, Colao has received several prestigious award recognitions from Johnson and Johnson and Mercer LLC, and is consistently tapped for leadership roles within professional industry organizations. In addition, he is a Think Tank member of the Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO) and currently serves as membership chair, member of the Think Tank Planning Committee and newly appointed co-chair of the Culture Work Group. Colao also served as president of the Association for Worksite Health Promotion (AWHP), has been a WELCOA Well Workplace Gold Award reviewer and has served on the Illinois Obesity Task Force representing the employer community.
Colao earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Corporate Health from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
