Visa fattens up digital wallet

The credit card company's V.me digital wallet program has exited beta phase, and Visa (NYSE:V) said it's signed on 53 banks and credit unions, and 23 merchants to accept digital wallet payments, including 1-800-Flowers.com (FLWS) and jeweler Blue Nile (NILE). Visa says V.me streamlines checkout and makes it more secure. Meanwhile, Bank of America (BAC) said its mobile payments system will launch next month. EBay's (EBAY) PayPal has long allowed customers to pay online. Visa fell 1.5%. BofA slid 3.6%.
