Viscount Announces Three New Freedom Contracts at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Sites

Federal Agencies Now Able to Leverage Sophisticated Physical Access Control

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / April 15, 2015 / Viscount Systems, Inc. ("Viscount") (OTCQB:VSYS), a software company specializing in physical and logical security solutions, today announced that it has been awarded contracts to install the Freedom Access Control Solution ("Freedom") at the facilities of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") in Nebraska, California, and Idaho.

Freedom is a software-centric, IT-empowered physical access control system ("PACS") that enables IT leaders to more effectively control access to areas and resources in the facility they manage. The patented, web-based software brings built-in cyber security protection to access control, reduces the cost of deployment and long term ownership, and provides a customizable, highly scalable platform for unifying physical and logical security applications.

"Federal agencies, like many of our clients, require a world-class level of security," said Dennis Raefield, President and CEO of Viscount. "Our contracts with USCIS reflect a growing adoption trend from both government agencies and commercial enterprises, and we're looking forward to continuing this positive momentum as we move ahead."

USCIS is the government agency that oversees lawful immigration to the United States. It relies on Freedom's full compliance with U.S. Government's FIPS-201 standard, which was created in 2006 out of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 policy requiring the use of Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentials by employees and contractors for secure access to government buildings and IT systems.

"Traditional, hardware-centric PACS systems have a native inability to meet U.S. Federal systems requirements without the addition of relatively expensive third-party solutions," continued Mr. Raefield. "Viscount's Freedom platform allows our customers to manage access control using low cost, IP encryption bridges that are highly-secure, compliant and scalable. We expect to see the positive impact of these contracts and more in 2015."
