EA’s major title releases in 3Q15

Dragon Age is an action role-playing franchise. It was developed by Electronic Arts’ (EA) Studio – BioWare. The third edition of this game was released worldwide in November 2014. EA stated that Dragon Age: Inquisition had the most successful launch in the BioWare’s history. Gamers spent ~113 million hours on this game.

In contrast, ~0.60 million units were sold on Microsoft’s (MSFT) Xbox One. If we take all of the gaming platforms into account, 3 million units of this game were sold as of January 2015.

Other title releases

In 3Q15, EA released three major updates to The Sims 4. It sold nearly 1.5 million units by the end of 2014. A new expansion pack for Star Wars: The Old Republic was also released in December 2015. The company said that SimCity BuildIt launched in December 2014. It recorded more than 22 million downloads the first month after it launched.

EA claimed that it’s in the top five Apple (AAPL) iOS game downloads in more than 100 countries.
