Wet Seal signs deal with 'Call Me Maybe' singer

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. (AP) -- Teen-oriented retailer The Wet Seal Inc. is partnering with Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen in a marketing campaign for the fall and holidays.

Jepsen, a former "Canadian Idol" runner up who achieved fame with her catchy "Call Me Maybe" pop hit, will appear in stores and online for the teen retailer beginning Sept. 5.

The singer will star in Wet Seal's fall marketing campaign and the Foothill Ranch-based retailer will sell her debut U.S. album "Kiss" for $9.50 when it is released on Sept. 18.

Wet Seal shares rose 7 cents to $2.81 in morning trading. The company operates 551 stores in 47 states and Puerto Rico.
